Introversion

In Hindi the word Introversion is Antarmukhta. It means to turn the face inwards. When one becomes internally facing then the inner senses are activated to see and hear the voices and feelings within. This allows us to work from a different perspective: a perceptive of what is going on within the self.

The external, physical world that we live in is very active and colourful. It is easy for our senses to be totally absorbed in that. But when we begin to realise that the external world is a projection of what is going on inside, then we can understand the importance of introversion.

Being sad about a scene in life is not uncommon. But to trace the root of that back to something happening within my own self is empowering. Something in the external world may be out of my control, but that which is within me is a question of choice. Introversion allows me to see the changes I need to make internally.

Being introverted is not about isolating one’s self from the world. It is about having a very clear connection with the inner world whilst fully living in the outer world.

Are you connected inside and out?
