Projected ‘Reality’

The world is a projection of what is in my mind. What I see and experience in my life’s drama belongs to me and me alone. Nobody else can see or experience it in quite the same way.

If I cease to exist then my drama will also cease to exist….. and this is true for every other person too.

It seems this concept is revealing the ‘reality’ of my life – that what is happening to me each day is merely a projection and perhaps not even ‘real’. When I am able to digest this then I will be protected from the influence it has on me – on my behaviour and experience.

Whether the scene in my life right now is making me upset, angry, sad or even very happy – it is all just a projection of my mind.

Step back and see the drama of life as a witness – partaking in everything yet being influenced or dependent on nothing.

Is My Vision Limited?

what_colour_glasses

When I have a ‘limited vision’ – one that is immediate, judgemental and closed – then what I am seeing is not real.

My vision and my perception of a scene is influenced by the past – by preconceptions, experiences and judgements. This then instigates a way of speaking, behaviour and discerning.

When I realise the reality of this block that restricts my vision and decide to shift it – the moment I change my ‘limited vision’ my attitude also changes. It then allows my unlimited nature of acceptance and generosity to flourish within my relationship.

It is important to remain aware of the influence of ‘limited vision’ and ‘limited understanding’. What I consider to be real and truth may not be the truth at all!

What is hidden within my vision that influences what am I seeing?

Courage to Hold Silence

bodyconsciousness

Within silence I become present and mindful. In that moment there is complete clarity and awareness.

Silence of words is important but the experience of silence within my thoughts and feelings is profound.

I wish to reach, and then remain, in this state where silence works like an engine for everything else to follow. And for this it is necessary to give priority to silencing my own inner world – that is my mind and my intellect.

As it stands my mind is constantly generating thoughts consciously and subconsciously. My intellect is using its understanding and learnt cleverness to decide, discern and judge what I should do, how and when.

When I renounce the need to hold and process information in my mind I will allow silence to take priority. Then I will cultivate a vibration of internal silence as a priority in my life.

The power of this silence will enable answers to emerge without the influence of my own thoughts and feeling – Imagine that!

Do I have the courage to hold onto my inner silence no matter what?

Why Hurt?

mistakes

Someone said something, someone did, or did not, do something and I am hurt by that. No matter how much I wish to stay in a positive and happy place, it seems as though others influence and change that. They continue to hurt me and cause me pain and sorrow.

However the fact is that I have no control over anything or anyone except myself. When I deeply and practically learn to accept this in my life then I will realise that no one can ever hurt me. People can behave as they wish to but it is what I do with someone’s negative behaviour – the shape and power I give that negativity inside my mind – that will decide if it causes me to hurt or not.

It is not an easy lesson to accept but the reality is that how I choose to respond is entirely in my hands. .

Let me empower the self by applying this lesson practically in my life from this moment onwards. Let me chose to remain happy.

The Heart Trap

Head_and_Heart

We make so many decisions each day, consciously and subconsciously. Those decisions then become the basis of the words and actions that follow.

Sometimes decisions are clear and obvious and at other times illogical and even crazy! What is the basis of the decisions we make? What influences our decisions?

Whatever is in the heart will influence the thoughts that arise in the mind and then that will direct the intellect in making its decisions. Whatever is in our hearts is reflected in our thinking and then manifests in our words and actions.

When the heart is holding onto bad feelings and negative experiences, by seeing and realising it, there is an opportunity to release ourselves from that influence. That then frees us from so many other potential traps that can be generated from the feelings in the heart.

Take a moment to open the door of the heart and see what is really going on.

My Companions

2015-04-20_0807_003

It is often said that we are coloured by the company we keep.

Am I aware how the people around me, my friends, colleagues etc., influence the values I hold, my understanding and interpretation of situations, and how that governs the behaviour I demonstrate.

How is the company I keep in my inner world influencing me? Am I able to see how the thoughts and feelings I entertain shape my vision and attitudes, and thus carve my personality.

Do I keep the company of the truth, of God, and allow that to work on me gently and subtly to make me great?

Let me check the quality of the company I am keeping – is it having a positive influence on my life? If not perhaps it is time to check and change?

The Way of Silence

silent_space

Spiritual power enables me to  maintain stability in the face of any situation – good or bad. It is a state of being that allows me to remain positive and empowered within myself, without dependency or influence of any external factor.

To develop this power I need to embrace silence. Silence allows me to hold my awareness within my inner space. If I can remain internalised, in this way, I will be able to remain connected with my thoughts, feelings and attitudes.

When I start to turn inwards I will see how silence becomes the anchor which allows me to chose. Inner silence hands back to me the power of choice. It gives me the ability to think before speaking, step back before judging and a space to understand before engaging in action.

Silence gives me the power of choice at every moment. A chance to choose to remain happy and peaceful whenever I wish. This is known as spiritual power.
