A Positive Mind

I choose to slow down and focus in on the thoughts that my mind is generating.

I become the observer and the analyst.

I take a conscious decision to not give energy to thoughts that are wasteful or negative. Whether I choose to see the thoughts themselves as right or wrong, whether they are justified or not, is not as important as acknowledging the ill feelings, discomfort that they bring about within the self and others.

No matter how comfortable I may experience these thoughts to be, I recognise that, for example, thoughts of a critical, judgemental or presumptive nature are like drops of poison that will seek and destroy all that is positive within me instantly or gradually – depending on the strength of the wasteful or negative thoughts. What is certain is that these types of thoughts will be destructive and will go on to finish my enthusiasm and close the door to opportunities.

Let me choose to develop the habit of consciously having positive and powerful thoughts.

Peace, Silence and Power

Peace of mind begins when there is no waste or negativity within my thinking. It is then that the incognito battle within the mind stops. Thoughts slow down and become few and I experience peace within my mind.

If I allow anything to come and disturb this state of thinking then I myself am responsible for the peacelessness that arises. Peace or peacelessness are a state of mind. Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved through understanding.

From peace I consciously take a step into silence. I connect with the feelings and vibrations around me and within me. This opens the door to experience the subtlety of my authentic self.

Within the experience of self, the power of spirit emerges. A spiritual strength which gives a sense of contentment and completeness. Of having reached my destination.

Am I a puppet?

When others act in a way or say things that I view as not ‘correct’ it gives rise to questions such as – ‘why can’t they behaviour differently?’

Questioning in this way, about something or someone that is not in our control, will undoubtedly cause disturbance within my thoughts and thus my feelings. If I hold onto these over time then they can lead to irritation and anger.

I may be a perfectionist, I may want people to be ‘good’ all the time but this stems from having the attitude of superiority. Subtly I feel I am better, I would not behave in such a manner and hence I place myself in a position to judge and criticise others.

I may well view myself as being ‘perfect’ but this habit of projecting my own values and standards on other – looking at others and judging them – always leads to me de-stabilising my own self mentally and emotionally. The moment I feel myself getting upset or angry with a situation then it is time to turn within and and observe the self..

Irritation or anger cannot arise without either there being ego of the self, or attachment to a person or idea or even the greed of wanting more. These seeds of negative qualities give rise to negative feeling.

Whenever I find myself being emotionally and mentally challenged – it is an opportunity to check the self from within and change the seed. If I don’t do this then I will forever be a puppet which is controlled by what is going on around me.

Mirror of the Mind

My mind is a mirror – whatever is in the mind is reflected in my life and becomes my truth

I cannot ignore the mind nor is it possible to run away from it.

Within the mind I create thoughts. These thoughts are seeds that I plant which then grow over time. The seeds become the fruits and flowers of tomorrow. They can also become the weeds and thorns!
My mind holds the key to my future – for a bright future or a sad one.

If I hold sadness and bitterness in my thoughts, If I hold sorrow then that is what will be reflected in my life – that is what I will experience tomorrow.

Do I have the courage to change the thoughts that I hold in my mind?
Do I even want to create beautiful thoughts, positive thoughts, or do I want to hold onto that which is sad and bitter and now even old?

Whatever is going on inside my mind – I need to see it and realise it – and then decide ‘Do I want to change it?’

The Power of Attraction

When we are happy, content and in a good space within ourselves, we are able to deal with challenges more easily. The moment we lose that balance the underlying feeling of contentment also disappears and we begin to feel threatened by the challenges that come.

In this state of being we subtly look for something to compensate for the loss in contentment, and we become attracted to ‘easy’ forms of comfort. We are drawn into taking support of negativity in the form of anger, falsehood, excuses, blame etc.
It no longer is a case of what is right and wrong. There is just a subtle but powerful need to be back in our comfort zone again and so we ‘fight’ for that.

Taking support of negativity in this way reinforces it in our lives and in our character. We then become trapped and dependent on negativity as a ‘quick fix’.

We may realise that this behaviour is not the solution and that it will only resolve the issue temporarily, but like a drug, we become attracted and even dependent on it..

Take care not to be attracted and trapped by negative behaviour habits.

Quality Thinking

We have heard so much about the quality of our thinking and how much of an impact that it has on the quality of our life. We know about positive and negative thinking but how do we catch the quality of our thinking while in action.

Opinionated thinking is not good quality thinking as it has a fixed based. It is positional thinking which is ego based.

Limited thinking is connected to the influence and indulgence of our senses, with limited experiences. It has a deep connection with the way we relate to our body.

Good quality thinking is very fluid energy, very flexible and detached. It offers an insight into a situation without being opinionated or critical.

Guilty!

 

guiltyWe often see or hear things that colour our vision of and beliefs about people.

Even if we are unaware of the circumstances, instead of seeing them as ‘innocent until proven guilty’ we automatically feel they must be guilty because our thoughts, feelings, word and actions are influenced by a belief already imprinted in our subconscious. So the way we see, hear or think about someone is coloured by that impression.

Whether they are guilty or not will make no real difference to me as a person. However this habit of holding on to negative impressions about people makes us the ones who support and empower those negative traits within our own personality. If I dislike someone then I am the one that experiences the negative feelings of ‘dislike’ within myself. We become the ones that experience the negative emotions and feelings that they generate.

So who is ‘guilty’ and who is paying the price?
