Deep, Deeper, Deeper Still

consciousness

Taking time out for ourselves just to sit quietly has become a luxury many of us cannot afford these days. There is just no time, we argue. A never ending ‘to do’ list.

It might be surprising however to find that it is when I give time to connect with my innermost self, that I will be able to ‘generate’ more time.

By diving deep into my inner world, I move away from the surface of my mind where I am subject to the turbulent effects of external influences. In the depths of the self I am the captain of my mind. In the still waters within I am reconciled with my own peace and stillness. My thoughts slow down. There is a sense of calm and clarity.

As I re-surface from the depths within, I sense a change in the nature of my thoughts ….fewer in quantity but greater in quality. With few but powerful thoughts my capacity for handling tasks and responsibilities has grown manifold.

Invest in ‘quiet time’ regularly and reap the reward……fewer thoughts, powerful thoughts.

Power of Thoughts

devil_workshop

Thoughts are the seeds of all creation.

Everything begins with the quality of our thoughts. Mankind’s achievement of walking on the moon to our ability to overcome personal challenges such as an emotional trauma all begin with our thoughts.

Nurtured and nourished wisely, thoughts grow to become the foundation to sustain that which has been created until the seed grows into a tree…more trees flourish and before we know it we have created a beautiful forest and much more..

If we can start to understand the power of thoughts, surely we will be very careful to create thoughts that will be of benefit to me and those around me and gently discard and discourage harmful wasteful thoughts.

The secret lies in discovering the Power of Thoughts.

Is this Love?

love_is

We may say we love a person or even a places or a things. But how do we define this love?

When we ‘like’ someone or something, or we feel our heart being pulled to the same repeatedly, we believe that to be love.

However there are two things: Love and Attachment
If we check the seed of our love and find that there is a ‘need’ within that – something we feel we cannot do without – then understand that this is not love but In fact it is attachment.

Attachment comes from a place of fear – the fear of not having or of losing that which I ‘love’.
Love, real love is pure and selfless; where there is love there can not be fear. It is a quality that is unlimited and something that we give. It is a ‘giving’ and not a ‘taking’ and In giving there cannot be fear of losing.

Look within your heart and check….Is this Love?

The Economy of Thoughts

ecomony_thoughts

Thoughts become more thoughts and can lead to a wasteful way of thinking. Stressful, worried, critical and negative thinking has become such a part and parcel of our lives.

To change thoughts we need to first let them go. To do this it is necessary to let go of the habit of ‘wanting’ and ‘needing’ a particular result from any person or situation.

The speed and quantity of our thoughts are fed by our own desires – subtle desires as well as gross. Whether or not we get the result or the goal we desire actually has no connection with the quantity of our thoughts. Thinking about it again and again will not change it nor make it the way we want. It will only create stress, anxiety and worse.

Be aware of the mechanics of how thoughts work and economise.

Thoughts are energy, don’t throw away that energy by wasting them. Be economical with your thoughts. Use them wisely.

Quality Thinking

quality_thoughts

We have heard so much about the quality of our thinking and how much of an impact that it has on the quality of our life. We know about positive and negative thinking but how do we catch the quality of our thinking while in action.

Opinionated thinking is not good quality thinking as it has a fixed based. It is positional thinking which is ego based.

Limited thinking is connected to the influence and indulgence of our senses, with limited experiences. It has a deep connection with the way we relate to our body.

Good quality thinking is very fluid energy, very flexible and detached. It offers an insight into a situation without being opinionated or critical.

Check: What is the quality of my thinking?

A Qualified Mind

When we take up the path of spirituality we start to make ‘spiritual effort’. But what is ‘spiritual effort’ actually?

In its most simple and yet deepest form, spiritual effort is about looking after the quality of the mind, moment by moment.

Whatever moves me away from the contentment that comes from such a mind is what needs to be changed. If I can be a moment by moment watchman over my mind, I will be able to easily progress and inspire others to do the same.

It is the simplest of things and yet the most profound and rewarding to master.

How qualified is your mind?
