I am a spiritual being

I

I am a spiritual being – a spirit, a soul, an energy that is not visible to the human eye.

The thoughts and feelings that are generated through my mind form a layer of subtle energy around the soul. This is then expressed in a gross form of energy we recognise as words and action. When words and actions are expressed through the body they enable me to build relationships with the world, people and situations in the world.

I move from a core truth of my subtle existence into a gross form and personality and a physical existence. And over time I learn to live in the reality of this outer most world that I myself manifested – believing it to be real and true.

However this manifestation is not ‘I’ at all because I am the spirit, the unseen soul at the very core.I take a moment, become still and silent. In my mind and consciousness, I separate myself from the manifestation – from the layers of creation and creativity…….

I take a moment, become still and silent. In my mind and consciousness, I separate myself from the manifestation – from the layers of creation and creativity…….In this moment I experience my own eternity and the reality of spirit. The spiritual ‘I’ without a name, gender or form.

In this moment I experience my own eternity and the reality of spirit. The spiritual ‘I’ without a name, gender or form. I am

I am spirit.

I am my own creation

Defects

Irrespective of whether I am aware or not, every thought I think, word I speak, action I take, and even the feelings, emotions and intention behind these are continually being recorded in the soul in the form of memories and experiences. What is being recorded will then shape my personality over time.

Let me take a moment to look at my personality today. Do I really believe this is who I am or is there a personality deep within based on truth and purity waiting to be discovered?

Regular observation and reflection of my inner world will help me understand what has shaped my personality.

With conscious awareness I can start to take care of my thinking, speaking and doing. I take charge of how my physical senses behave, I begin to learn about my intentions and motives. As I check and change I become a conscious creator.

Over time my new experiences will begin to overshadow the old ones so much so that the old personality pales into insignificance allowing my true self to shine through.

Start the journey today!

Listen in Silence

Listen_silence

The anagram of listen is silent.

Silence enhances listening. When we listen properly it is possible to respond accurately.

To be able to listen fully, refrain from speaking. Don’t speak through the mouth. Pause the constant chatter within the mind. This will allow you to hear clearly.

Listen with an open mind and you’ll hear the words. Listen with your heart and you’ll understand the meaning of the words. Listen and it will enrich the way you respond.

To hear clearly, listen in silence.

Cloudy or Clear?

cloudy_clear

Do you ever wonder why people misunderstand you or get the wrong message when you communicate?

The first reaction to miscommunication is ‘I already told them. Were they not listening?’ Yet so often they did listen but what was communicated was not clear.

When we communicate we describe what our mind perceives. The mind holds thoughts and expectations which colours our vision. We often take basic details for granted. We don’t see them and thus they are not communicated.

It is not about how much information is given, as too many words can be confusing and overloading. It is about the clarity, completeness and accuracy of what is given.

Think before you communicate, use words wisely and listen to what you say. Waste no words – each one should be necessary and valuable, leaving no room for doubt. There will be no extra, irrelevant, comments, opinions or remarks to cloud the issue.

Regular meditation acts as a refining process which brings clarity to all expressions – verbal and subtle – until it becomes the natural way of thinking and being. The more I learn to go into silence and experience peace and clarity of the mind, the more I will have the ability to communicate clearly, wisely and appropriately.

The Devil’s Workshop

devil_workshop

‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’

I have heard this saying many times and yet how often am I aware of what is going on in my mind?

Actions are the result of the thoughts. If the mind remains occupied in positive and constructive thoughts, then I will certainly experience that in terms of positivity in my attitude, feeling, words and actions.

It needs constant attention and control of the mind to ensure that I don’t let the devil in. When there is nothing specific to think about, or I become lazy about cultivating good thoughts, then, like an unattended garden, the mind will become full of weeds. These weeds, over time, will outgrow any flowers that may wish to grow and the beauty and joy of the garden will be lost.

I must remain occupied checking the thoughts being created in the mind as these are the seeds that will result in the fruit of my experiences in life tomorrow.

Check, am I consciously planting healthy and positive seeds in my mind or am I allowing the devil to plant his seeds.

A Question of Choice

The life I have lived up until now has been one that I have chosen, although I would not automatically agree that this is what I would choose for myself. And yet it is actually a question of choice.

With each thought, word and action I sow a seed for my future. Whether I am aware of it or not, whatever I face today is as a result of a seed I planted in the past: whether it is good or bad, brings happiness or sorrow.
Once planted the seed will come to fruition at its own time. It may be immediate, it may be the next day, the next year or indeed much later. But the result will definitely come.

The power is in the realisation that I have a choice. In everyday life, if I replace the words “I have to” with “I choose to” I will notice the difference in how I feel. I will naturally be able to take control and responsibility for my tomorrow. And I will become aware of the choices I make.

Choose wisely!
